Our workshops are designed to gently guide participants into the experience of working with curiosity and intuition through mindfulness and community art-making. Accessible, surprising, and magical art techniques will be offered for a positive experience of shared creativity. Our hope is that each participant integrates the art and mindfulness offerings into their continued wellness practice, in ways that broadcast value and connection well into the future.
Our purpose is to address burnout through art, mindfulness, and community. The workshop will support the participants’ sense of self and connection through cultivating curiosity, building trust with their intuition, and expanding into possibility.
Combining guided with open-studio style art-making, allows participants to experience flow state, what Girija Kaimal, a professor at Drexel University and a researcher in art therapy, describes as being in ”the moment and fully present (so) that you forget all sense of time and space.” This experience activates several neural “networks including relaxed reflective state, focused attention to task and sense of pleasure.” Kaimal describes these physiological shifts as “contributing to reduced stress and anxiety and improvement in mood.”
Our strengths-based approach to helping participants feel supported, emphasizes building trust with themselves and is informed and substantiated by the stories they share at the communal art table.
